Nissan Frontier/Xterra Parts For Sale

All parts for sale came off of my 2002 Nissan Frontier SC with 11.5k miles and are in great condition.  Except the Supercharger was found in a recycling center.  Will it work with a normally aspirated VG33 Nissan?  Probably, but I am not sure.  The Aquamist system was used for a few months and is like new.  The Gtech was used to test my truck (see below!) My Truck Details

Performance

The truck is supposed to run 9.3 seconds 0-60 stock.  These numbers are from the manufacturer so you can never trust them.  I can tell you the truck is a lot quicker than my 2000 Frontier Crew Cab.  That was my main gripe with that truck, but I am very happy with this one.  Here are the numbers:

0 - 60 Test Summary

Condition Average/Seconds
Stock 10.395
Pulley Install   8.677
Intake Install   9.050
Exhaust Install   7.46

Stock Base Test

I ran some 0-60 tests today (9/10/02) with my Gtech Pro Meter and came up with these results:

Conditions:

1st run - 10.24 seconds

2nd run - 10.61 seconds

3rd run - 10.14 seconds

4th run - 10.59 seconds

Average - 10.395 Seconds

I plan on repeating this test after I install each aftermarket piece. I'd like to install the Popcharger, Exhaust and Pulley in that order.  Now I know the Gtech isn't perfect, but it seems to be fairly accurate as long as you have it positioned level and straight.  I also tested my speedo against my GPS and it looks like it is a little fast.  57mph on the speedo was 60 on the GPS and I know my GPS is very accurate.  I thought about doing some 1/4 mile tests, but the trucks real strength is it's bottom end.

After Pulley Install

Conditions:

1st run - 8.49 seconds

2nd run - 8.70 seconds

3rd run - 8.69

4th run - 8.83

Average -  8.677 Seconds

I was pretty amazed at the changed. The tires slipped for maybe 15 feet on the first run but it was my best time.  I ran a 3rd run with the added weight of a 12 pack on the front seat and I didn't slow down in time for the Gtech and it thought I was doing a quarter mile.  It flashed a 7.90 for a second and I checked the manual to see what that meant.  It said that it will flash the 0 - 60 time and then return to the 1/4 mile time.  The 3rd run was after I reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery.  And I also tightened the belt so it didn't slip this time.  I am not going to count that run, but I'll try again later in the week.

Just did the 3rd and 4th run. The temperature was 89 degrees with 44% humidity.

After Jim Wolf Technologies Pop Charger Install

Got this installed last night.  It was pretty cool out (80 degrees) and I could notice a huge gain in power, especially before the truck was warmed up.  Once it warmed up, the power increase wasn't as noticeable.  I did notice the increased sound emanating from the supercharger.  It is several times louder under half to full throttle.  I ran some 0-60 tests a few minutes ago and here are the results:

Conditions:

1st run - 8.80 seconds

2nd run - 8.98 seconds

3rd run - 9.37

Average -  9.050 Seconds

I concluded that the Pop Charger benefits only when the air temp is lower.  The stock airbox shields the intake from the heat of the engine.  The Pop Charger has no shield and heats up pretty good after running a while.  Just try licking it after some highway driving.  Ouch!  My runs got slower and slower and I could feel the loss of power as the motor heated up.  So I decided not to run a 4th time.  I plan on making a heat shield and some venting to cool off the intake air.  That should make a big difference.  When the truck was cold this morning I could burn rubber for 30 feet.  It put me back in the seat!  But after my 3rd run today it wouldn't even peel out.  I have the Gibby Exhaust in now and I'll install it in a few minutes, as soon as the truck cools a bit.

After Gibson Catback Exhaust Install

10/31/02 I ran one test and it was at 7.46 seconds.  I filmed it so you can see and hear.

I also installed an electric fan and ran one more test this morning - 7.71 seconds.  My launch was pretty crappy and I had a full tank of gas. I think I can get it below 7.25 once I empty the tank and get a proper launch.

3/20/03  Just finished two more runs.

1st run - 7.49 seconds (Click here for picture)

2nd run - 7.64 seconds (Click here for picture)

Average -  7.565 Seconds

I drove home and immediately did them without letting the truck cool so it was a little hot.  And it's 77 degrees out today.  If the car and the outside temp were cooler, I know I could improve these times.  I left a nice 30 foot black patch on both runs.
